This series embodies an ongoing exploration of black and white produce photography, ignited by the visionary works of contemporary photographer Anna Agoston and other modern artists like Georgia O’Keeffe, celebrated for their inspired, zoomed-in perspectives of the natural world. Drawing inspiration from their techniques, I strive to encapsulate the essence of nature through my artwork, employing abstract perspectives and meticulously experimenting with elements such as form, light, and balance.
These photographs serve as a catalyst for deep introspection into societal perceptions of food and diet, urging viewers to confront and challenge any lingering feelings of shame and guilt. Despite my ongoing personal insecurities, this transformative journey has profoundly shifted my perspective, leading me to a newfound appreciation for the inherent beauty and nourishment found within produce.
Ultimately, my aspiration with this collection extends beyond the mere portrayal of fruits and vegetables; it is to inspire viewers to reconsider their relationship with food, cultivating a more compassionate and enlightened outlook towards nourishing both body and soul.
