As a web design student, I redesigned the WordPress website for the David Strawn Art Gallery in central Illinois. Based on my experience as a former gallery hostess and intern for the director, I aimed to offer visitors a comprehensive understanding of the gallery’s significance within the art community of Jacksonville and its enduring legacy.
To achieve this, I delved into the gallery’s history, providing a nuanced narrative that honors its cultural contributions. I also aimed to improve the user experience by addressing practical concerns such as displaying comprehensible gallery hours. By implementing intuitive navigation, a stunning virtual tour, and prominently featuring monthly artists, I created an immersive online platform that captures the essence of the gallery’s physical space while offering valuable insights into its artistic culture.
Through thoughtful design, I created a digital hub that celebrates the gallery’s past, present, and future, inviting visitors to explore its treasures and engage with its vibrant artistic community.
